Todd's cross-pollination of poetry with healing modalities has led to a wellness innovation, The Poetry Bath, a low-light, yoga mat listening experience that emphasizes relaxation, intellectual stimulation, and full-body resonance.
A guided meditation with a poetic twist, Todd draws inspiration from sound baths to develop themed 50-minute immersions in great poems of today and yesterday, read slowly and thoughtfully, with an emphasis on personal reflection.
"Anybody who's ever been to a traditional seated poetry reading knows that hearing poems read aloud, and read aloud well, can make your heart chime and your bones vibrate," Boss says, "so a poetry bath provides a natural expansion of those resonances for audiences that want to take that experience a step deeper."

Available for booking at conducive venues like yoga studios, libraries, performing arts spaces, and museums, the poetry bath is a ticketed, bring-your-own-yoga-mat experience. Beta events are being tested in select cities in 2025-2026. Todd will host, but soon hopes to train others to facilitate based on best practices, complimentary soundscapes, scripts, and theme-curated programs. Poetrybath.com will serve as a hub for all things poetry bath.
This project is an extension the work Todd does on his podcast, There's a Poem in That, on which he writes healing poems for complete strangers.
It answers in part to our noisy, distracted society by re-creating the focused, present-moment space poetry deserves.
More about this project, and tickets for upcoming events, can be found at poetrybath.com.
For this project, I'm grateful to my fiancee and frequent collaborator Hila Plitmann, who finds energetic refreshment in sound bath experiences, and has encouraged this innovation from the start. I myself can be ambivalent about sound baths, but I always find something refreshing in a good poetry reading! So here's something for both persuasions.
